Etienne Parrocel

Painter called 'Le Romain'. Nephew of Pierre Parrocel. Went to Rome in 1717 where remained for rest of his life. Specialist in making sets of chalk drawings of Rome and its environs for tourists: for one such set of 219 drawings now at Eton, see Louisa Connor in 'Eton College Review', III (December 2008), pp.5-55
