John Bayly, Jr. (c. 1750-1806) was the son of silversmith John Bayly of Philadelphia. Presumably born in Philadelphia and trained with his father, he seems to begin working about in that city about 1770. In later life Bayly Jr. relocated to Delaware; in a deed of 1797 regarding land on Front Street in Philadelphia he is described as a silversmith of New Castle County (Delaware). In 1798 he was painted in miniature by David Boudin in Harrisburg; Walter M. Jeffords gave the miniature to Yale University Art Gallery. Bayly, Jr.'s estate was inventoried in Delaware in 1806.
