"'Accident', awarded the Grad Prize at the Fifth International Print Exhbition at Ljubljana, Yugoslavia, was the result of a disaster during printing. After a few impressions, the stone broke in two pieces. Both the stone and proofs were discarded. Rauschenberg made another, which broke after three impressions. Rauschenberg placed the two fragments back on the press bed, added another stone he called 'the debris,' and printed the edition."
