Rattle depicts ancient noblewoman in huipil and stone beads holding infant (heir).
The Baltimore Museum of Art by gift, 2006; donor's notes upon offer indicate "acquired by bequest 1989;" donor letter of 12/21/06 indicates that piece was of the estate of Agueda Herrero who lived in Mexico then brouht his collection to the US in early 1960s to be stored in Upper Nyck (donor's home).
