Physical Qualities Brush and ink transfer relief plate, Sheet: 251 x 348 mm. (9 7/8 x 13 11/16 in.) Image: 242 x 340 mm. (9 1/2 x 13 3/8 in.)
Credit Line The George A. Lucas Collection, purchased with funds from the State of Maryland, Laurence and Stella Bendann Fund, and contributions from individuals, foundations, and corporations throughout the Baltimore community
Object Number 1996.48.13697
Issued as a separate sheet by the journal "Revue de la Semaine" on April 29, 1877. This impression is trimmed to remove the inscriptions. Fisher states that "because of its inclusion, presumably in a large edition, in an identified periodical, and because Lefman was designated as the printer, this object can be most securely identified as a gillotage print, rather than a transfer lithograph."
The Baltimore Museum of Art by purchase, 1996; The Maryland Institute College of Art,
through Henry Walters, Baltimore, by bequest 1909; from George A. Lucas, Paris
