Small framed Berlin work pattern consisting of a drawn and painted design on point paper with colors added to each section of embroidery corresponding to the color of yarn to be used in working the stitch on the actual embroidery. This pattern of a small boy with a dog is extremely similar to the motif worked in threads at the upper center of the Berlin wool work sampler. The entire pattern is painted with grey gouache (?) except for area with colors for pattern. Paper is bent. The pattern is mounted and framed in a small gilded frame with relief designs in the gesso layer. The glass appears to be old.
