Portrait of Bertha E. Lucas (died 1944), niece of George A. Lucas. All known impressions of this print are in the Lucas Collection and in the S. P. Avery Collection (New York Public Library).
Lucas mentions this print several times in his diary: January 17, 1889: "Visit from Goeneutte to show eau forte Bertha L after Rajon, paid for same cash 250 fs"; November 14, 1889: "Visit from Goeneutte to show me plate of Berthas [sic] portrait"; March 21, 1890: "Goeneutte to show me proofs of Berthas portrait & 20 Eaux fortes for S P A = 200 fs (paid)"; October 24, 1890: "Visit from Goeneutte bringing e fs for Avery & states of plate Bertha Lucas"
