Wealthy Marylanders imported high quality silver from London during the colonial and early Federal periods. This regal candelabrum, one of a pair, is engraved with the initials JAD for John and Ann Donnell, who lived at Willow Brook. So is its mate, which is on view in the adjacent case. The oval drawing room from Willow Brook was added to the BMA’s collection in 1965.
