2003: "In the 19th century, Tami carvers were noted for their production of zoomorphic, rectilinear, and oval bowls. The right to carve bowls was owned; between 1900 and 1930 Tami and Siassi Islanders related through adoption, marriage, and other ties exchanged the rights and knowledge associated with their crafts. Siassi men received the right to carve bowls in exchange for the right to produce canoes. Siassi carvers still prodice these bowls."-Frederick Lamp (records also indicate this could be Kathy Fernstrom)
