A posthumous impression after Nadar photo taken in 1862. When Baudelaire died in August 1867, Manet learned that Charles Asselineau was preparing biography and complete edition of his works. Manet's print survives in three states, with the third - realized in 1868 - appearing in Asselineau's volume.
