Rearing horse with head thrown back, mouth open, small ears back, proper right foreleg bent and proper left foreleg extended being attacked by a lion who is straddling the horse's body on a diagonal (from proper left side to proper right side - the lion's head oriented toward the horse's tail). The lion is biting the horse in the spine and clawing him with its proper right front paw on the proper left side. The ground beneath the rearing horse is rocky with what appears to be a tree stump or branch more or less in the center. Base: oval rocky ground with branches and rim.
