Decorated with scenes from popular nursery rhymes, this extravagant breakfast set for a privileged child was designed by Albert Southwick, an American who encountered the Art Nouveau movement while studying in Paris in 1898. Southwick used the sinuous vegetation and signature whiplash curves of Art Nouveau to create a framework for the nursery rhyme characters.
