Ancient Colombians/Ecuadorians buried their dead in earthen tumuli. Clay objects, particularly large urns, were inverted and stacked to form 'chimneys' leading from the center of tumuli, upward to the ground surface. This object appears to be some variation on the chimney form with arms attached.
