Green cotton cloth with abstract leaves and geometric designs. Designs encapsulated in blocks delineated in dark brown. Geometric designs include diamonds, hourglasses, triangles, rectangles. Cloth came wrapped in plastic with yellow cardboard label that says 'SAMOAN HAND PRINTED TAPA DESIGN/All cotton 36' - fast colour dyes/3 yds $4.50/ISLAND STYLES/Apia-Western Samoa'. Green, dark brown and red-brown pigments
Mrs Watchorn says they purchased this in Samoa about 25 years ago (= ca. 1967)

Inscribed: 'Hand Printed ISLAND STYLES Samoa' repeated along one selvage. 'MERCERIZED' stamped on back.
