Covered sugar bowl by Samuel Kirk & Son, c. 1880. Silver. Covered sugar bowl in classical revival style. Urn shape with concave shoulder is raised on a shaped octagonal plinth base; simple reed molding around the lip, two strap handles, and an urn finial on the domed cover. Band of bright-cut engraving at waist. Engraved with elaborate acanthus leaf script monogram on side that reads, "JBG."
