Cream Pot

1789-1799

Physical Qualities Silver, 7 x 2 3/4 x 5 1/4 in. (17.8 x 7 x 13.3 cm)
Credit Line Gift of Virginia P.B. White, Baltimore
Object Number 1933.54.63
Recalling an ancient helmet, this classical revival cream pot stands on a square plinth base and has a tall strap handle. A simple row of beading set around the lip and repeated on the edge of the pedestal are the only decorations that break the serene silver surface.
