Rectangular quilt of Double Wedding Ring pattern. White cotton background with pieced rings of multiple multi-colored prints and four-patches blocks of solid teal (blue-green) and red at intersections of rings. Fabrics in the body of the quilt include solid turquoise, red, yellow, gold, blue/white blended cotton, medium bright blue, pale blue, bright pink, pale pink, red/white blended cotton, tan or beige. Prints include checks in blue and white, red and white, brown and white, black and white, grey-green and white, a two color blue with wavy tan stripe, lavender and white. Plaids in pink, black, white, and green; bright red, blue and yellow; lavender and white, black orange, and blue on white, and others. Stripes include yellow with a green strip, white and red blend, blue with red and dark blue on white. Florals are present in a multitude of colors and grounds. There are also geometrics, including polkadots in green on beige and blue on beige, small dark blue and red blocks with dots, navy and white dots on navy blue, abstract designs on blue, orange, and black on white. Six woven fabrics are also present, including a gold fabric with red and white and red and yellow grid. The quilt is backed with off-white cotton in 2 widths each approximately 32-1/2" wide. It has cotton batting. The edges of the quilt, which follow the curve of the outer most rings, are scalloped and bound in white cotton tape attached by machine stitching in the front allowing 1/4" to show and brought to the back where it is handsewn with 1/2" showing. Quilting designs are simplified floral designs within rings worked in 14-16 stitches per inch counting both top and bottom stitches (i.e. 7-8 stitches per inch on the top. This quilt is pieced and quilted by hand, but also exhibits some machine stitching.
