The bottom is flat and unglazed; it has three equidistant large, triangular spurs or feet. The foot is high and straight. The globular red earthenware body is decorated with two large, crisply molded monster-head masks on opposite sides just below the shoulder, rings are suspended from the masks in imitation of bronze vessels of the period. Above and extending from behind the masks are two groups of three raised rings. Simple stamped decoration of pendant triangles encircles the vessel in three places, suspended from the rings which decorate the shoulder, around the neck and mid-way between these. The contracted neck flares outward at the mouth which is defined by rounded rims. The vessel was fired upside down as may be seen by the accumulation of glaze drips and kiln adhesions on the mouth rim. There is evidence of at least four kiln supports.
