The print was published in London and does not belong to Van Dyck's Iconography series, although it has long been catalogued as part of it. The source of the portrait is unknown but perhaps derives from a grisaille. There is a similar engraving of Ferdinand by Adrian Lommelin (New Hollstein 129 (Van Dyck)).
