Physical Qualities Earthenware, 7 1/16 in. (18 cm.)
Credit Line Gift of The Jaegal Foundation, Baltimore, George and Julianne Alderman
Object Number 1999.184.8a-b
One of 23 figures grouped as a troop of ritual dancers. This example is shown with its arms in front of its chest. A puppet doll links the performer's hands. The headdress of the figure is removable. When the headdress is off, a small hemet cap is secured to the head with a chin strap. The figure is shown wearing a string of spherical beads at the neck. The headdress is a conical shaped helmet marked by a shark's tail plume and a human face set in a solar disk (see 1999.184.5).
