Title-page to a series of etchings with the title inscribed on a wall in a street, the Hanswijkkerk in Mechelen (French Malines) in the central background, a large townhouse at left, three figures on the street. One of set of 34 plates (9 at BMA). Printed in Ghent, 1831.
Although this title-page indicates that several etchings were included in this series, their number is unclear, since some prints are indeed signed with the date 1831, while others with lower registration numbers and lower catalogue numbers are signed with 1811. Hippert+Linnig also do not mention a series.
Inscribed: Recto: Inscription lettered within image on the wall: "Recueil de Gravures à l'eau / forte, dont plusieurs d'apres / Hobbema, par P.F. de Noter / Gand, 1831."
Markings: CM: Claghorn WM: G & R.
