Plank mask of Karanga type; the facial portion of hollowed, domed-oval form vertically bisected by a slightly raised, serrated crest flanked by small pierced eye holes encircled by smaller holes; the face framed by large inward-pointing triangles in low relief, and crowned by a small, horned animal head projecting from a forward-curved neck; the flat triangular face with concentric grooved patterning, the curved horns encircled by legs grooving and extending up in front of the tall, flat, panel portion whose outline is sectioned by slight inward and outward tapering, punctuated at the top by a pair of flat, circular horns, and at the sides by a pair of small projecting knots (?); the front surfaces of the panel largely patterned with horizontal rows of small triangles in low relief, and the back surface in rows of rectangle, both sides framed in the upper half by pairs of large, inward-pointing triangles meeting at the center; the mask completely polychromed in natural black, white and red pigments; remnants of natural-fiber cord on attachment holes around sides of face; clear evidence of use and wear, encrustations on inner face; of sturdy, medium-heavy wood.
