After a design by Laurens, although according to Beraldi, in this state "sur le rocher, est un homme appuyé qui regarde vers le premier plan où gisent un cadavre et la carcasse d'un cheval, qui n'existaient pas dans le premier état, et ont été ajoutés par Jules Laurens, qui les a gravés lui-même sur la planche."
