Hot water pot made by Samuel Williamson c. 1810-1813; part of a 6-piece coffee and tea service. Silver, ivory; raised, steamed, cast. Bulbous rectangular form which bears discreet bands of milled gadrooned ornament at the rim and shoulder; with hinged domed lid. A cast rectangular finial on the lid repeats the form of the body, which stands on a stepped, rectangular foot. A curving, faceted spout and an opposing, squared silver handle rise high above the pot. Fruitwood and ivory rings act as stoppers near collars of the handle. An elegantly engraved monogram "TMS" on the side, probably stands for Thomas Marsh Smith.
