A carefully constructed rare object. A whalebone strip up the longer slanted wood leg, additional wood bone crossbars holding a circular whalebone band. Two supplementary whalebone stabilizers on the sides. Additional smaller bone elements attached with pegs relating to the spooling and retaining of a line. A bone lure (probably for hunting sea mammals) attached with sinew line (possibly original to the reel).
