Vik Muniz creates intricate but temporary constructions and collages out of materials such as garbage, food, paper fragments, and in this case,
paper dots punched from celebrity magazines. Limited edition photographs of these assemblages are all that remain of his creative process.
Up close, the chaotic arrangement of punched-hole dots reveals bar codes, faces, and words. From a distance, the portrait of Munioz's friend,
the Brazilian musician Seu Jorge, emerges.
