Two-sided blade with arrow-shaped hilt, with braided leather thongs covering the arrow shaft, bottom of the arrow, and top of the blade; sheath of leather in red with tan at either end.
The Baltimore Museum of Art by gift, 2002; Howard and Jane Cohen, Baltimore; according to appraisal: 'acquired by owner in Mali in 1990 from a local person who claimed to have made it many years before then.'
