In 1935, Vuillard produced six lithographs depicting various tasks related to dining for the publication Cuisine. These tasks ranged from the planning of the menu, to the preparation and serving of the meal. Here a man wearing an apron holds a basket of fish as he starts to prepare the food. His expression seems to indicate that he is not enthusiastic about the task.
