Commissioned by Charles Blanc for the Chalcographie du Louvre after a drawing by Pynas; this version was rejected and Daubigny produced a second version that was accepted (see Delteil 63). Impressions of this first version are rare and, according to Melot, "known virtually only in the prints of the first and second states in Baltimore."
