Commissioned by Charles Blanc for the Chalcographie du Louvre after a drawing by Pynas; the first version was rejected (see Delteil 62) and Daubigny produced this second version that was accepted and was published in the second state. It is not clear how the tone was produced - if it is aquatint, roulette, softground etching (cravate) or some combination of those techniques.
