Based on Manet's painting, Soap Bubbles, 1867 (Gulbenkian; Rouart and Wildenstein 129). According to Fisher, this impression "is most likely one of the rare proofs pulled by Guerard during Manet's lifetime or shortly after his death. The impression is printed on a warm-toned, heavy laid paper similar to other Guerard proofs and comparable impressions in the Lucas collection, which do not correspond to the characteristics of prints from the posthumous editions."
