Object Number 2007.241
Rectangular cloth in black or dark blue which appears to be a composite of several cloth fragments sewn together. Each short end of the cloth is marked by a patterned design and yellow fringe. The center portion of the rectangle is a solid color. At one end of the cloth, the design consists of 40 standing figures arranged in 10 columns of 4 figures. Each column alternates between green and yellow figures against a red background. The figures are shown wearing an angular, crecent shaped headdress typical of Chimú. A row of yellow fringe, (the mark of Chimú royalty), is situated below the design. The opposite end of the cloth bears a similar figural design but the arrangement is one row of 10 figures bordered by bands of scroll motifs. The edge of the cloth is bordered by yellow fringe.
