Les Courses De Chevaux. Les Chinois, qui ont les plus détestables chevaux de fiacre qu'il soit possible d'imaginer, ont reconnu la nécessité d'améliorer cette intéressante race de quadrupèdes. En conséquence la Société Hippique de Pékin n'a cru pouvoir rien inventer de mieux que de créer des course où les chevaux doivent franchir une lieue en quatre minutes. Assez souvent le cheval arrive à son but, mais jamais la société d'encouragement, attendu que le vainqueur est alors ramené en triomphe chez lui... dans une charrette. Il est amélioré à perpétuité!
