Wide bands of reeding encircle the tapering body of this mug. An applied C-scroll handle, rectangular in section, was cut and assembled from sheet silver to provide angular contrast. Struck on the bottom, Baltimore assay marks including the letter “F” were struck on the bottom, dating the mug precisely. It was made in Andrew Ellicott Warner’s shop in 1822.
