Object Number 2007.239
This piece represents the outer cloth cover of a bundle that served as a surrogate head for the mummy of an elite individual. The dangling warp threads would have been braided or fashioned into a turban. The cloth consists of a beige square on which a central figure, surrounded by curvillinear abstract designs, has been painted in brown pigment.
