Japanese designer Issey Miyake employed this technology of pleated polyester to make an original fashion statement with his “Pleats Please” clothing line. This mock turtleneck expands and contracts to conform to the body, yet maintains its pleated diamond patterning, which is accentuated by the addition of color.
