Illustration to Anna Brownwell Jameson's 'Memoirs of the Beauties of the Court of Charles II' (London: 1831). Lely did paint a portrait of Elizabeth Chesterfield, but this print is not based on the same composition (see BM 1902,1011.380) and may not be after Lely at all (BM catalogs this print as after Jacob Huysmans or Peter Lely). Her portrait is not one of the "Windsor Beauties." Van Dyck also painted her portrait, and prints were made based on that portrait (see BM P,6.201).

Inscribed: lower right in graphite "Chesterfield"
