Small, oval-shaped embroidered picture set in a gold-colored frame. Depicts two males, one standing and one on horseback with a large architectural arch and tree forms behind them. Both figures are dressed in mid-late 18th century clothing of white breeches, black boots, red-trimmed long coats, and black tri-cornered hats. The standing figure is seen from the back. The mounted figure has raised his arm over the horses head and appears to be holding a long cylindrical object (scroll?). The embroidery is somewhat coarse in areas but with some attempts at shading. The horse is finely worked. Stitches are primarily in satin stitch. Embroidery is probably silk in blues, reds, blacks, greys, yellow, browns and green on beige silk fabric ground.
Gold-colored oval metal frame with glass insert and metallic back has attachment and metal loop for hanging. Back is copper and gold streaked. Some tarnishing of frame which is of long stylized acanthus or laurel leaves in a wreath form.
