Early Yue wares from Zhejiang and Jiangsu Provinces led to the development of Song Dynasty (960–1279) celadons. Refined examples have been found in Korea’s Royal Tombs, where they were likely part of a diplomatic exchange of gifts. Yue ware was made across a wide area; kilns in Sichuan, Fujian, or Guangxi Province are associated with this kind of uneven glaze, which suggests it was an intended for everyday use in China or abroad rather than as a tribute gift.
