According to Dmitrii Rovinskii's "Detailed Dictionary of Russian Engravers" (1895), Vol. I, p. 62, no. 5, Berseniev made this print in Paris under the supervision of Bervic, with whom he studied from 1788 until his death in 1789

Inscribed: At top of lower margin at right, "Grave par Berseneff, Pentionaire de S. M. l'Imp. ce des Russies." In lower margin at left "Peint par Domenique Zampieri," in center, "Dessine par Vandenberghe." Lower, a crest, and on either side it, the title, divided after "Jen" Under crest the letters "A. P. D. R."
