A theorem painting of a still life produced in watercolor on a white velvet or velveteen ground. The work is rectangular in form and horizontal in orientation and features a woven basket (possibly wicker) with a solid bottom and lattice work top set upon a bed of grass (?) and filled with a variety of flowers. Flowers include identifiable roses, iris, tulip, and smaller varieties of unknown type. The colors used are primarily blue, reddish brown, white, dark green, and gold, although these may have changed over time. The work is framed in a moulded dark brown wooden frame with gold liner and a black églomisé mat with gold stripe around the rectangular opening. The frame does not appear to be original to the work. The background is off white, but has discolored with age to a soft brownish yellow.
