Overshot coverlet composed of two loom widths, each 38" wide, butted and sewn by hand with the pattern matched. The pattern name is known as "Sunshine and Windows," or alternatively as "Sunrise and Window Sash Table," or "Walls of Jericho." The pattern is created by the use of very bright pink supplementary wefts woven overshot on a plainwoven ground that was originally bright blue but has faded to a light bluish-gray or grayish green. The top edge is hemmed by hand with ¼" turned under. The bottom edge is also hemmed under by ¼" but then turned over with an additional 4-3/4" hem hand stitched in order to hide a loss near the corner . The side edges are selvages.
