Teapot made by Samuel R. Richards, 1797-1800. Silver, wood. Silver teapot with black wooden handle and thumbhold, square base and narrow beadwork decoration. It has a double cone cover with button finial. There are vertical engarvings around the lower half of the belly. A script monogram on the side reads "ECS."
