After the c. 1864 drawing by Daumier in the Lucas Collection (see 1996.48.18685; Maison 601); there are several additional impressions of the print in the Lucas collection. A lawyer dressed in a robe and hat and holding a bundle of papers in his left arm walks down the staircase at the Palais de Justice. Another lawyer looks over his shoulder at the central figure. People mill about on the upper level in the background.
