Covered with an overall beaded patterning of geometric motifs in red, blue, yellow, and green on a white background. The upper draw portion has beaded bands up the sides and around the mouth. The drawstrings are wrapped with red and white quill and have metal and feather tassels. There is a quilled base with white and purple rectangles on a red ground with long hide fringe.
Ralph Case (father-in-law- of donor) collected beginning probably in early 30s, perhaps earlier. Acted as attorney for the Sioux nation in suit against U.S. Government from 1932 to 1966. Was born on a Sioux reservation (c. 1880s/90s); son of a frontier sheriff. (Information from donor, 1984)
