Three tiered intertwined sculpture. On the bottom is the lion lying on its back and crushed by the weight of the two horses and their riders. Caught in the middle are the first horse that has collapsed on all four legs (head buried in ground), and its rider holding a rifle in his proper right hand, who are being crushed by the body of the second horse that is leaping over them. The rider of the second horse (top) thrusts a lance, held in his proper right hand, into the mouth of the lion. The second (top) horse is rearing back with both forelegs in the air. The top horse and rider are facing to the (viewer's) left, and the middle horse and rider are facing to the (viewer's) right. Base: oval ground; no rim.
