Old fashioned paper backdrops and analog (as opposed to digital) photographic techniques, such as double exposure, characterize the simultaneously jewel-like and banal pictures of Elad Lassry. However, by evoking the look of vintage advertising, he renders his subjects in a slickly appealing and unapologetically superficial way.
