Frieze-like composition in classical antique interior with props. In center, three men thrust their arms forward towards a fourth man who holds his proper right arm in the air, palm forward, and holds a dagger or short sword up for the others to touch. A woman swoons against them. A second woman sits off to the left, head thrown back and arms thrust into the air in a gesture of grief and despair. On verso of mounting board is a sketch of a horse and carriage.
