Blue Corn is known for carrying on the polished blackware tradition of Maria Martinez, especially the use of the eagle feather motif. Geometric elements, both angular and curvilinear, in either polished or matte design schemes are a feature of San Ildefonso ceramics. The designs are usually confined to bands placed on the upper body of jars and low globular bowls.
