An embroidered circle of stiff white cotton buckram embroidered with brightly dyed synthetic yarns. The circle is divided into four quadrants with the same design worked in different color variations. The center circle is divided into four sections with one part lt. blue, one part dark blue and two opposite colors in medium blue. This is surrounded by a band of yarns in variants of violet and purple crossed with pink or rose yarns. Another circle of black surrounds the innermost circles. Another band of blues and purples crossed with pink and rose yarns follows, the darker threads always falling in the one quadrant, the lighter in the opposite and the other two opposing quadrants being mirror images in the same colors of a medium value and hue. Then four circles, one in each quadrant, are worked in various colors - the darker being in blue-greens, green, purples, black, rose, orange, rust, outlined in red; the middle two being in yellow green/gray or slate blue gold, blue-green and black outlined in bright orange outline, and the lighter circle worked in light lime green and slate blue and black outlined in light orange. Beyond this half circles of black and other colors and an outer outline of shades of purple/lavender, rose/dark pink, and other colors travels over the half circles and around the outer perimeter of the work. The gradations of color within the four quadrants in the circle suggest three dimensionality. The back is covered in loose threads. There is no lining.
